Dr A M Nagesh founder of Chethana Neuro Centre is a well known senior Psychiatrist in Hassan practicing since 35 years. He did his MBBS at VIMS Bellary and pursued Diploma in Psychiatric Medicine at NIMHANS Bangalore. After completion of his post graduation he worked briefly in same institute for an ongoing research project and then began his career as consulting psychiatrist.
A keen enthusiast in sports, he is a shuttle badminton and tennis player and has won many medals and trophies. His passion for reading and writing though recent, he has to his credit writing articles to the news papers. He has written two Kannada books “Manasa Mandara” and “Manasu Mrudanga” which are popular in Karnataka and brought three music albums “Manasiri”, “Manokashi” and “Manathanthi” comprising its lyrics on mind, matter and meditation. He is also author of English books “Parivarthana”, “Paavithratha” and “Prarthana” released by popular publications Notion Press. Most of his writings and many of his narrations are his own concepts drawn out phrases from ancient scriptures, what had conspired between his friends while discussing and what he has observed in his psychiatric practice. He has also acted in a short movie “Kanasu Kannadi” based on true story.
He established Chethana Neuro Centre in the year 1984 at Shankar Mutt Road and it was the first clinic in Hassan dedicated to address mental health and bring in latest services like EEG, ECT available to patients. His idea to build a comprehensive service unit was conceived and CNC was shifted to Shankarpuram Road in 2005 which provides integrated services like Pharmacy, Laboratory, ECG, EEG, Physiotherapy, Day Care Unit, ECT etc under one roof making it easy to access for patients and avail its benefits.
